Ahhh, but they know you have a turbo power!

Re: 10th Anniversary Edition - Turbo Project
I asked an insurance broker a few years ago about engine transplants and he said they take the insurance group of the car the engine originally was in.

So a 1.2 corsa with a 2 litre engine would be the insurance group of the 2 litre car.

And Peter
"EPC"!
*cough cough*

That isn't correct with all insurers, there is no set way of dealing with engine swapped cars.

We work this way, although it's not quite as black and white as that in every case.

Insurance is harder to understand than what is beyond our universe.

I can tell they're both going to be just brilliant!

Rory, you want to come grab a spare inlet manifold and do that too?

Yeah mate I really should

Re: 10th Anniversary Edition - Turbo Project
Swapped a few bits over today
-

Started the day with the 2 parked next to each other

Seats changed over.
Half leather into the silver one and full leather across to the yellow one.
I prefer the half leather.

Ditched the anniversary momo steering wheel and fitted a standard wheel

and fitted a turbo engine lid

Also took the time to clean, prime then paint a throttle body and brackets.
Now I have silver heat shields, intercooler pipes, intake manifold, cross brace and throttle body.
It's going to look pretty tidy when finished I hope.
It's now left in Skywalkers trusted hands ready for coilovers, wheels, brake pads, brake discs, whitelines, front underbrace, walbro and complete rear clip to be swapped over.
All that I need then is a JDM spec rear bumper
(I hate the UK number plate recess) and it will be ready to to into the bodyshop.

Don't worry. There's plans for the yellow one now.
It may live on as an NA for a while before being transplanted back to turbo by the new owner.

And I will say it again you don't have to be gay to own a yellow car!

Little update
-

Engines out of the yellow one.
Visited Pacific-Works and painted a few more brackets and engine bits after rubbing them down
(didnt take pictures of the bits from today though).
Here's a couple of photos so far
-

Table full of shiny parts to go on

Hopefully this week the engine conversion will be done
