[Mk2] [Turbo] which torque wrench?

Post by dylan5084 »

What rated torque wrench should I buy? Just for general use on my tubby.... Im about to change my turbo, down pipe an exhaust manifold for a high flow manifold, also what's the recommended torque settings for putting all these on?

When I undergo the task of changing, is it wise to warm up the engine a little to ease the bolts off? Had good results in the past with having a little heat in the bolts
Adivice much appreciated :thumleft:

I've got a Teng 1/2in torque wrench that goes from 40 to 210Nm. That covers most stuff but I've also got a Halfords 3/8in (8 to 60Nm) for the smaller jobs.

I'd want it to tighten bolts up on its own considering how much they cost.

If you can find omeone with a Halfords Trade card they do good ones and you get quite a bit of a discount :-)

oh also, I'd think long and hard before replacing the stock exhaust manifold.

+1.

Proven to 500+bhp. Doesn't crack or fall off. Absolutely no pose value or bling points, but is the best choice for all but a handful of builds.
