[Mk2] [Turbo] Rewire turbo speedo

Post by leeclark2010 »

I am converting from rev4 n/a to rev1 turbo and have just dropped out my speedo and gone to connect the turbo lot in and discovered the plugs on the back are completely different. Am I better off rewire ing the n/a loom with the turbo plugs and speedo (and cable driven speedo) or keeping my rev4 n/a speedo and converting the gearbox speedo drive? I also want to keep my warning light confusion to a minimum. If it makes a difference I have used the rev1 turbo loom from the passenger footwell back. Any help much appreciated! ](*,)

I'd be converting the gearbox to an electronic sender I think! Much easier to run a wire than the speedo cable. You can't use the sender from the N/A gearbox though, they're different.

So if I keep my n/a clocks and put a sender on the turbo gearbox then? What and where do I get the converter from? Sorry for the questions!! Will I have issues with warning lights etc.?

Get the sender unit from the classified forums here.

Converter from ebay.

If wired in correctly, there is no reason why you should get any warning light issues, since you're simply duplicating what was insttalled in Rev2-5 cars.
