Turbo Manifold

Post by AdamP »

Sorry if this has been covered already, any reason why this wouldn't work in an AW11 arrangement:

Realised it sits the turbo on top, so probably bulkhead issues. Oh well!

Just because the pic is upside down doesn't mean the turbo will be too lol

Plus that way up will fit with a turbo, just needs a bit of persuasion. :eye:

The orientation of the mounting face does however.... smarty pants

??

It would sit the turbo on top of the manifold unless I'm being particularly blind today. The way up it is in the photo is the way up it would be in the car going by the engine mounting face (not the turbo end).

I owe you an apology, it does indeed sit turbo up, i just presumed nobody would mount a turbo that way on a 4age,that's the most bizzare 4age orientation i've ever seen, and a bloody stupid one, if it were me i'd cut the head flange off and weld it the correct way.

No problem, you had me double checking!

I would cut and weld too if it weren't cast iron :-/ Oh well!

Seems to be a common orientation for turboed Corollas.

I've often wondered how feasible it would be to use one of these upside down with a spacer plate to flip the stud locations (I'm thinking along the same lines as a PCD adapter)

It's for an AE86. Is a better option to put the turbo above the manifold in one of these.

Ah, for AE86 use, that would explain it, i was thinking Mk1 Mr2 and WTF?

HKS made a manifold many moons ago that looks just like that one. There are many copies. They're cast iron and can be had pretty cheap.
