[Mk2] [Turbo] Smoking turbo cuts out

Fine before parked up ,then got it out to play and a run to jappfest my 2 has started to smoke on idle (white smoke ) with white smoke I would presume head gasket but this doesn't show no signs of water in oil no mayo under the oil cap, this does only happen on idle when running its fine , so after running to jappfest in the car she also starts to cut out at every set of lights or round abouts , so basically when car is slowing down, a little confused any ideas ?

Air leak maybe check vacume pipes

Turbo oil seals may have gone. Do you get any smoke on the over run?

Take the turbo inlet pipe off and see how much play there is on the comp wheel and shaft

What year/revision is the car? Does it have a BOV fitted?

Have you just fitted the BOV? A vent to atmosphere BOV on a Rev2 - which uses a MAF sensor - could be the cause of the stalling issues.

Hi nic the bov was on when I brought the car thanks for the advice I do have the old recirc of my old car I will fit it and try that
