Well, to start off i found an exhaust on eBay off this guy. Spoke to him regarding it and he said it's all in good condition will fit an NA MR2 etc and i was completely sold. I won the auction, contacted him for his address and travelled down to pick it up two days later. Paid in cash, deal was done. I was well happy, untill the next day. Had the car on the ramp in work ready to have it fitted, only to realise the exhaust it's for a turbo.
Then contacted the seller and explained the situation and that i could have it fitted but i'd have to pay someone to fabricate a section of exhaust. He replied saying that he will get back to me as he is going to get advice on a forum regarding fitting. Never heard back after two days.
So, i opened up a 'item is not as described' dispute on eBay so that we could come to an agreement and to my surprise i have a dispute opened against me for 'non payment' and included in the description was ''Still waiting for payment from the buyer. Item has been sold but buyer still hasnt collected nor has he paid for the item. A non payment case will be opened against the buyer''.
Marvelous.
Anyway, I'm just waiting to hear back from eBay as to what they have to say.
But, if you can, aviod him at all costs.

As much as i'd like to, it's about an hours drive away so not one of the easiest of places to just pop in to. Plus i'm really happy with the exhaust, i'd just like to come to some sort of arrangement about paying someone to make it fit right. But he's making it a nightmare to do that.

Did you get a receipt to say you actually paid him the cash? If not then how are you going to prove to Ebay you paid for the item?
Re: Avoid eBay seller 'aliishaq1' - MR2 Breaker
...and did he make you sign anything saying you'd collected it. If he didn't same goes your way. Have to say eBay normally are good with buyers and nightmare for sellers...

I've no receipt to prove i've paid. But i have texts from him and a phone call conversation from when i collected it. Plus i also have the exhaust and he doesn't. I'm not sure if anything can be done, but i'd like to know that i've done all i can.

If all else fails, stick it back on eBay as a turbo exhaust?
Re: Avoid eBay seller 'aliishaq1' - MR2 Breaker
Just an update.
Phoned him off another phone, and he answered. We spoke, he was civilised at first and then turned into abit of a tw*t. But basically he said i have my money now and that's the end of it. He did mention that the car the exhaust came off is now on eBay and that it definately came off an N/A MR2.

I like it too much
Plus that's not what i'm trying to get at. It's the whole principal of selling something on eBay, it's supposed to be as described and be fit for purpose.
Re: Avoid eBay seller 'aliishaq1' - MR2 Breaker
Shame for you Donato, I know of a few places down this way that can sort the exhaust if needed, as for the ebayer, he's a dick, also it will be logged that his 'complaint' has been started after yours - nothing iron clad but establishes a time-line that reinforces your series of events.

I was tempted to point that out earlier, the guy lives roughly ~90-100 miles round trip between your 'locations' as well as posting something a bit antagonistic. Tit.
Re: Avoid eBay seller 'aliishaq1' - MR2 Breaker
just to add unless you like extremely loud exhausts i wouldnt put a turbo exhaust on an NA, the turbo does a fair bit to quieten it down
