engine internal cleaning (terraclean)

Hi guys pretty new to the site and was just wondering has anyone had experience with the terraclean system on their beloved 2?

I saw it recently on wheeler dealers and Ed China endorses the product.

Getting high compression readings in my engine of

203, 202, 183, 193

And have heard this could be due to high carbon build up (best scenario!)

Terraclean is about £70 and claims to flush out all the carbon deposits from your engine by pumping highly refined fuel through yiur system for about an hour. Theres plenty of positive reviews out there but all for other vehicles.

Any opinions guys?

I wouldn't bother. Fuel injected cars don't carbon up like older non-efi cars.

they charge around £90 inc VAt by me. I asked them about doing it on a Turbo engine and they said it would be ok.

Thinking of having it done to mine next year as it's meant to lower emissions and give a better throttle responce and give you back lost power. How true the last 2 our is anyones guess.

ahh ok maybe give it a miss then. Any tips on how to get my compression readings down? its a rev 3 turbo btw

You're not suggesting he has a conflict of interest are you Pete, or indeed that he's been paid to advocate the use of that product??

Personally I think he's straight down the line, much like this guy who wants the government to ban washing cars at home for the sake of the environment

This of course is entirely unrelated to his position at the Retail Motor Industry Federation, who represent indepedent petrol stations. You know, the kinda guys who'd setup nice environmentally friendly car washing facilities for people to use following a ban.
