Discussion and technical advice the SW20 MR2. 3S-GTE, 3S-GE, 3S-FE etc
Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
So here I sit at the side of the road with a smashed windscreen, bent bonnet and twisted hinges. Not sure if it's me not closing it properly or the fact the catch is almost completely seized. Greaaat!
AA on their way, pictures incoming..
Edit : picture
Has it kinked the roof?
If it hasn't dont worry, it's not going to cost much to sort out. I cannot see it costing more than £200 for a screen and new bonnet, sure it's still £200 but on a modern car it would be an insurance claim job.
I had it on an old Fiat Uno Turbo, very scary moment indeed.
Scary indeed! I was overtaking a shogun on the motorway once and its bonnet flipped up. Your safety catch must have been stuck open due to rust or lots of oily cack.
Same thing happened to me back in march, faulty bonnet catch. Ended up paying for the windscreen myself as the insurance company wanted £200 excess instead of £60 due to them claiming it cost them around £800
Anyways i told them to get stuffed and found a local company to fit me a new one for £160.
Ahhhh gutted! Hope it all gets sorted soon! Just had a sneeky peek at your garage pic of the whole car Tsia and i have to say, that is absolutely bang on how i'd like mine to look, it's absolutely gorgeous! Well... It will be again after a little bit of work
Love the wheels and rear spoiler! If you ever fancy telling me what they are.....
Wheels are Rota D1s in 17". The car is nowhere near as mint as it looks in the picture, it really needs a respray & some side skirts fitting, thanks though
I'm actually picking a bonnet/windscreen/hinges etc from another member later on, but thank you anyway. Should be back on the road by Friday/Saturday

I thought they were Rota's! Nice rims on an Mk2 Mr2!
Good luck with getting it fixed!
