Well, this is my second MR2 now in three years I had no intentions of changing from my last white rev3 N/A import, but when this came up for sale impulse took over and I had to have it! I bought it on the first of September, so it's only been with me a short while.
I also update the car on the website THRLL:
http://thrll.com/car/1997-toyota-mr2-12845
The car the day I picked it up!
Once it was home, it was time to start the labourious process of cleaning, and grabbing some rare OEM or just personal parts from my old car (which will soon be for sale)
Nothing transferred here though
Next up, a thorough cleaning:
Including polishing the (standard) exhaust
Since then, I've worked on little bits of modification here and there, with some much more exciting ones to come. Here's a half-way photo of my new gear shifter, using a Type R knob. I polished up the shifter base plate and arm. I really like the exposed mechanicals, though I know it's not to everyone's tastes by any means.
I've also painted the centre console plastics in pearlescent black paint. They look great, so much more contrasted with the main dash texture. I also fitted some lovely chrome dial rings - a different look to the white lockwoods I had in the previous 2.

Re: Cosmos Blue Beams PG11 - For Sale...?
Thanks guys.
There's a rather lovely set of these about to go on, Karl:
I also intend to get an S2000 aerial, Yaris washer jets, Mk3 cloth or leather seats, and... Altezza supercharger
I've done the bodywork mods before so not that interested. I've got 6mm spacers on the rear to widen the track by 12mm. I am wondering whether or not I space them out a little further yet... Only I have a buyer for my old 15mm spacers @ £75 so it's all a bit up in the air.

That would certainly do it.
Maybe respray or replace the strut brace, wire tuck the fuse box and coolant bottle into the boot and polish or paint the heat shields too Yes, I get far too excited about detailing engine bays

It does feel significantly different to the normal 3s-ge and I drove them back to back.

your road looks worse than some of the roads round here
must be awfull to drive up and down especially if you have put those apex springs on as thats what i have and imho they are too harsh

It's technically a private road so yes, no tarmac. Nightmare!

Apex were the only brand besides Eibach who didn't drastically reduce ride quality according to most reviews.

Re: Cosmos Blue Beams PG11 - For Sale...?
Thanks mate, that's very kind of you.
Up coming plans are -
Replace the rear 6mm spacers that I put on for kicks with the 15mms I have. Put the 6s on the front. I want to keep the exterior looking stock, but a wider track is always going to be good (unless it starts tram lining?) and looks better too.
Underseal? I'm not sure about this, but seeing as it's totally rust free it seems a shame to let it go unprotected.
Seats - going Celica on these I think.
Definitely going to be cleaning up the engine bay; blackening blacks, polishing silvers, etc.
Osram Nightbreaker bulbs, and possibly Raybrig headlights. Not sure yet.
Oh, and get some Toyota Yaris washer jets fitted on it

Re: Cosmos Blue Beams PG11 - For Sale...?
Well, back from a few days away on the continent, so back to fettling!
I previously had nominally stuck my 6mm spacers on the rear of the car to widen the track a little. I have now added 15mm spacers to the rear to further widen the track, improve appearance, and keep OEM+ looks. I'm pleased with the set up:
Mud flaps will be on shortly, after I blacken them up!

Re: Cosmos Blue Beams PG11 - For Sale...?
Took the mudflaps off my old car, cleaned them up, black waxed them, and now they're about ready to go onto the Beams.
Washed...
...Dried, and waxed...
... And the lot of them done. Quite satisfying considering how grotty they were when I started. Tomorrow, they get bolted onto the car. I suspect the front will look pretty mean with the rev5 speed flaps and the mud flaps too.
Once it's lowered, got its mudflaps, and cleaned up properly, I think it's time for a photo shoot!
