I would be up for this if it was the first weekend in October.

So are you going to have a convoy of 11 MR2's go over the Hardknott Pass :?:  :?:

Put me down as a slight maybe, I'll have to see what I can arrange with the missus

Have to say, I really love the Lakes, and driving to/from there is great. But I detest driving around the B-roads there, FAR too narrow, and Range Rovers driving in the middle of the road around every blind bend :|

The A686 between Newcastle and Penrith is quite nice when it gets to the hilly parts. First time I drove on it was in thick mist and locked the brakes on me 306 on a hairpin bend - gave the locals walking by a giggle as they've probably seen that more a fair few times :D

Hey guys! Back from hols. Looks like there's a lot more interest in this little jaunt! I think we have agreed on a meeting place which is the RoadChef just off the m6 north (not sure which junc) and thats were the plan goes a tad astray. I cant seem to figure a route that will work for everyone. Ive suggested a few possible places to drive/visit ie one of the lakes and then sort a bbq out (which I can bring). If we could work out a nice circular route then that would be great. I will try my upmost to get a suggested route up by Tommorow a.m so everyone can say "ye thats cool" or criticise the hell out of it and pull it to pieces!! Either one is fine just as long as we get a final route sorted a week or 2 before the off. Cheers for now
One other thing, I cant work out how to put a pic of the multimap with the route on, on to this site. So if I can pm someone or post up the sugested route it would be great if they could, if they know how, post up the multimap pic so everyone can get a clear idea of where we are going. Ta! :D

blue2,

Put a list of the points you want to visit/roads to take and I am sure the IT guys on here will sort something out on their lunchbreak/lunchday and post a bitmap up.

Looking forward to this outing. Think we may be driving over on the Sunday now so Graeme and Phil, we will probably come down and meet you unless you are heading up this way. Be in touch nearer the time. Is JamesC up for this? Any know if MR2 Trev still has his car (job redundancy although he was talking about getting a MK1) as he was always on about not enough meets in NE. There's a guy I met called Ehab from Dunston near Metro Centre with a lovely red rev3 tubby I will contact also. He was keen to meet up with other MR2 owners, or is he already on here.

Leewaring, get your girlfriend insured and enjoy the pubs, then you can fall asleep in the car on the way home like I always do. ( And dont have to tell her how not to drive your car). Oops, thats gonna start something.

Sunday 18th is looking good, now whats happening with the weather.....

Yeah sounds good!! Hopefully have nothing planned for that weekend.

Would love to see a route, meeting points, people coming from what area etc so we know who to wait for/meet with en route.

Nina (MidnightRaven) and myself will be coming from the South East/M23/M25 area if anyone wants to start a convoy from here.
