1996 MR2 Turbo - Immaculate condition £2500

Post by Rory »

Just a quick post to test the water/guage interest. Due to lack of time and funds I have come to the decision to sell my MR2. Its a late Rev 3 tin top in immaculate condition. Luke @ Pacific works can vouch for the condition of this car. I bought it from a member on here who bought it from another member on here so it has been cared for and owned by enthusiasts. It has a whole folder full of receipts and history. Its been sat in my garage and not driven for about 18 months now. It has a few subtle modifications -

BC Coilovers (the car has only coverred about 30 miles since these were fitted)
Blitz Nur Spec (Same as above. This exhaust is as good as brand new. Mongoose exhaust also available)
Rota wheels in correct offset and size.
Greddy Profec Boost controller (set to 15psi)
HKS SSQV 2 (other BOV also avialble)
Whiteline ARB front and rear.

With these mods the car drives and handles extremely well. If you are genuinly interested then please PM me on here. I'm not willing to let this go for next to nothing and would rather just leave it in storage until next year.

Now for the bad bits....

The car has no tax or MOT currently. It needs 2 new callipers (old ones were binding) to get it back on the road. For this reason the car will need to be collected on a trailer. The car has litterly done about 30 miles since it received new discs/pads, brand new exhsut and coilovers for the last MOT and has only been driven twice since. There should be no reason that it will fail one appart from the 2 calipers. The exhaust and suspendsion alone cost about £1400! First offer over £2500 will secure this. This car is not the usual rubish around these days. This is the second MR2 Turbo that ive owned and by far the cleanest that ive seen for a long time.

Update - Exact price to be confirmed depending on transport but after speaking to Pacific Works I believe I can get it transported to them, have the calipers put back on (after freeing them off) and put it through MOT for approx £200.

Why not tax/test it and fit 2 new calipers and stick it up at £3500?

Looks clean.

That's what I'll do next year if nobody wants it. Just haven't got the money right now to tax, mot and insure it all together.

I really want it but my missus would dis-own me ( maybe not such a bad thing lol) especially after she saw your message on facebook about it.

If you've still got it next year then I may have it   :-$

Good luck with the sale mate.

Quick update for those who have contacted me via PM about it. Its going to cost approx £200 to get it transported to Pacific Works (who are pretty close to me) and have calipers fitted back after being freed off then put through MOT. This would have to be paid for by buyer as I have no money at the moment. If this doesnt sell then ill do this myself probably next year and maybe keep the car :D

Nick dont be such a girl! You know you wont find one this good condition. You tell the Mrs who's the boss and buy this one :-$

Or buy this one and keep at Lukes until youre brave enough to tell her :eye:

Thanks for the interest guys but the last few days and a few conversations with some people on here have persuaded me to keep this for myself (I blame Luke  )
Thanks for all the PMs.

I too had offered immediate £2700 cash for the car, I have now withdrawn the offer and will await the "breaking thread" :thumleft:
