Mr2 Turbo Rev 3 - Forged engine - track / road car

Post by karldavies »

Hi all,

I have my MR2 for sale on Pistonheads at the moment. The advert can be found here...

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4064366.htm

I'm also in the process of getting a fresh MOT on the car as its currently stored in a garage as a track car.

Let me know what you think and if the price seems sensible.

I do need the car sold as I'm looking to use the money towards a house purchase soon.

Cheers
Karl.

What would you say a reasonable price is for the specifcation?

I know some people on here have had issues with you know who, however I've had no such problems.

Thanks in advance

well the way i look at the ad and not really knocking your asking price but seems a little steep.

The things that would stop me forking out nearly £6k for your car.

1. Doesn't have MOT or tax - big no no for me
2. Mr Billy bull built it - got stung by him once, never again
3. for the spec of the car it aint putting out that much BHP. A few little mods to a standard REV3 will give that much although you do mention it has got potential for 350bhp

Would you buy a car with no MOT for £6k not knowing there could be another hefty bill coming. Atleast MOT & tax it so new owner can drive it away.

As i say, this is just what puts me off buying.

OK Thanks for that.

I am actually in the process of getting it ready for an MOT this week so it will be sold with 12 months. I do agree that it would put people off and I think that has reflected in the amount of enquiries I've had.

I purchased the car originally for £5000 and have spend about £1000 on it including roll cage, arb's and wheels/tyres.

I know what you're saying about the BHP however the engine is forged which means for track driving reliability will be much better than a standard engine with the boost turned up. Rogue usually ensure customers run on forged engines.

Also to me its not just about the power, it has lots of other bits on there to improve the handling, safety etc.

I hope £5295 is a realistic price though.

Thanks again.
