MR2 Rev 3 Turbo GTS - Caribbean Blue

Post by richie94gts »

For sale, my subtly modified revision 3, 1994 Toyota MR2 GTS Turbo in metallic caribbean blue with around 260bhp.

This car has done 126,000 miles and has been garaged the whole time it has been in this country. It has around 6 months outstanding on the MOT. I have owned this car since the end of 2000 (i.e. 12 years) and it has proven very reliable. Included in the sale are the original parts to enable this car to be returned to standard if required (excluding the standard wheels). The car has been regularly serviced and I have all of the receipts from the time I have owned the car.

The bodywork is in excellent condition. The interior is in excellent unmarked condition with a silver dash. The seats are also in excellent condition. Plenty of tread left on the tyres. There are limited engine mods to ensure I didn't overstress the engine (for longevity), I felt the car was quick enough! The modification took it up around 20bhp from standard but made it sound a lot more exciting.

This is a brilliant, fun car which I have loved owning. It stands out whilst not being brash and sounds fabulous.

Exterior:
GReddy/Trust side skirt and rear splitters (genuine)
TRD rear spoiler (replica)
Lexus rear lights
crystal front cluster
crystal front lights
Eibach pro-kit lowering springs
Kahn RS-S 17x7.5 wheels
6 digit number plate "M27 SWP"
Uprated OSRAM Night Breaker bulbs
Thatcham Cat 1 alarm

Interior:
Brushed aluminium Isotta steering hub (rare)
Aftermarket steering wheel
Silver dash
IMOC mats
White speedhut indiglo dials with MR2 logo
Panasonic full fascia head unit
Panasonic 8 disc changer
JL Audio speakers

Engine:
Blitz Nur Spec R exhaust (with baffle)
Blitz decat pipe
Apexi Induction kit
Dump Valve
Blue silicon hoses

Included in this sale are some other MR2 parts which aren't on the car:
MRD Twin exit carbon fibre exhaust (blowing)
Standard rev 3 rear light clusters
Standard exhaust
Standard rev3 rear spoiler
Original Toyota workshop manual (BGB)
Standard MR2 air box
Standard Catalytic converter
Standard downpipe
Standard front light clusters
Standard side intakes and rear splitters
damaged Greddy replica front splitter
15" spare wheel
14" spare wheel
Original "Man In Dandism" mats

Bad points:
The car is due a cambelt change.
Small patch of rust around the windscreen.
Wheels are starting to blister and would benefit from a refurb.
Air conditioning needs servicing.
electric aerial not working.

Hopefully that covers everything, please feel free to PM or call me on (07970 269954) if you have any questions. I'm located near Bath.

I'm asking for £2500, which I believe is a very good price considering the car and all the parts which come with it.

Hi, thanks for the offer but I don't really need a 4x4 :) I bought a 350z and was holding onto he MR2 in case I changed my mind or decided to run two cars. Cheers.

Nice car pal. Good price, lot of car for your money.

How are you finding the 350z compared to the turbo?

Hi dazzz, thanks for the comments.

Regarding the comparison:
The 350z is bigger (noticeably wider on the road - I find myself wincing through narrower gaps), heavier, not as pretty and worse on fuel. I like the sound of the V6 and the non-turbo power delivery is nice. I wouldn't say either is better than the turbo though, the related turbo noises and the delivery are more exciting.

Ultimately I think it's more of a GT and a bit less sporting. Consequently I'm not finding it as exciting as the MR2, which is why i've had both for a while. I did consider keeping the '2 or getting another but i've had MR2s for the last 15 years so thought it was time for change! I just hope I don't decide to come to get another one as I'll have trouble getting hold of some of the modifications on the car again.

Hi Richie,

Pretty sure it was you that introduced me to the world of imoc many years ago while driving through Ashton. Very tempted but as ever, insurance a nightmare!
