It might not be a sensor.
Any fault codes?

Re: Rev 3
there will be stored codes so check for those using the paperclip!!
My money is either flooding/ overfueling or the fuel pump giving up. I have seen on other cars fuel pumps working until they warm up then packing up.
Easy to check by ear

Re: Rev 3
there are no lights on the dash, so how would I check?
its okay when it has cooled down, and doesnt happen all the time, so could it be mechanical?

Re: Rev 3
Could it possibly be coolant temp sensor?

No warning lights on dash, not overheating or anything, but started again when it cooled down?
Any idea which sensor is on its way out?
I've had this problem before but it was erratic and didn't happen every drive. I read that this type of problem can be down to failing igniter and/or coil.
I changed my igniter+coil and it hasn't occured since

Re: Rev 3
Thanks I'll try that. We changed the ignitor, but not the coil, so that'll be the next step....
