Brake problems

Right I seem to be having some problems with my brakes, first one is when I'm hard on the brakes the brake light comes on the dash and then it will stay on for awhile... I can also hear squeaking when breaking from the rear calipers... And also I find the breaks lock up too easy, my setup is standard calipers, drilled discs from fensport and not sure on the pads but I've got some ebc yellow stuff pads in the boot of my car some I could put them on, tyres are Pirelli p6000's....
Also another problem is I don't seem to have any torque, to the point where I've tried to make it wheel spin but can't! It doesn't sound like the clutch is slipping or anything, any ideas??

Have you checked brake pad wear James ?

You will hear a squeaking noise when the wear indicator starts to rub on the disc

Dash brake light is probably down to low brake fluid level - possibly due to worn out pads

Or not enough fluid due to a leaking caliper...or its just not up to the level where the sensor is for the light to go off.

Maybe you cannot make the wheel spin because your tyres are decent?

I can't spin mine up to the grip I have on the back.

As Mart said low brake fluid will the reason for the brake list coming on.

Have you tired more revs? Try 5000 rpm and dumping the clutch.

I would suspect that your rear calips are not working as they should. Check pads and that they are working properly.

Checked rear pads and theyre got plenty of life left, brake fluid could do with a little top up but it's not below the min line...
I noticed on one of the rear discs only half the pad is being used..
Think I'll take the calipers off give them a clean and grease and top up the fluid and give all 4 calipers a good bleed.
Yes 5-6 k and drop the clutch they don't spin, not that I'm wanting them too just thinking I'm down on torque which I do notice through the gears, seems to pull fine in tvis...

Could have a load of crud in the rear caliper seals as these tend to perish and split. What is your handbrake like?

Handbrake is ok, works fine to stop it rolling down hills etc but wouldn't lock the wheels say if you wanted to do a handbrake turn.

To be fair the MR2 has tons of traction. With my road cars I would never spin the wheels in a straightline pulling away in the dry. When I raced them perhaps a tad annoyingly I always seemed to get wheelspin off the line!

I wouldn't necessarily worry.
