Another Tyre Thread!

Post by adam1989 »

Hi guys
Have searched but have been unable to find a definative answer.

My car is lowered 40mm all round and i need new rear tyres, i currently have 235 40 17 falken fk452. Im happy with the brand but want to know will i be able to fit on a 245 35 17 without any issues.

The wheels are 17inch 8j wide with an offset of 35

Many thanks

Adam

Input your sizes there.

But basically, if your current tyres fit, then the new ones will as they're effectively smaller.

245s on a 8" rim? Move up to a 9" rim.

Tyre Diameters

Post by cosmos »

235x40x17 the total diameter is 620mm
245x35x17 the total diameter is 603mm which compares to the 215x40x17 the total diameter is 604mm.

So its the level type look (604mm front/603mm rear tyre ) verses the slightly raised rear end which is 604mm front/620mm rear tyre.

Assuming the Gordaens guide is ok and ive interpretted it right ??
