Bootmount intercooler what exhaust

Hi all soon to be installing my bootmount intercooler! What exhaust would be best to avoid heat soak? Just a single exit?

Best would be a side exit

Yeah ive got a skirt exit screamer already! Lol! And i dont fancy it too loud!
My boot mount uses a scoop underneath! Its nathans old one! So should i offset this and put exhaust on the otherside?

No, put the exhaust the same side as the scoop so the heat goes up it!

Would it not be possible to put some kind of insulation beneath the BMIC?

I've been thinking about one of these setups myself at some point and I've got a big ol' dual exit... Hmm!

Wouldn't you also need to cut the floor etc of the boot to allow air in for it?

In fact, I'm sure there's a thread about, but does anyone have a step by step guide of how this works?

Yeah floor needs cutting! Ive got a scoop to fit underneath the intercooler to scoop the air onto it and two large spal fans too!
If i mount the scoop in the middle im not sure what to do with the exhaust! Lol!
And i think the scoop would look odd offset?

A side exit will be the only way to make full use of the bootmount. If not side exit, a custom job to run around the scoop with a full heat wrap will be OK.

ive just altered my BMIC, it used to lay flat with a hole cut in the boot floor, but its always hard to get good air flow this way. so ive now mounted it vertically against the back panel (cut out) this has enabled me to A, duct coler air as the exhaust is further away, and B, seal it off and still have a usable boot. ill get some pics up soon of the new setup, but heres the old one

Could cut boot lid like mine, put a Impreza style scoop under spoiler, cut floor and bring air in the top and out the bottom, away from the car, towards rear.
