Putting my 2 back on the road. . .

Post by Lard_Father »

My 2 has sat in the garage (and been warmed up/down a few times) since November last year, I want to put it back on the road in June but as there is no tax, mot or insurance on the car I don't know where to start I was assuming that the it would be;

insurance,
then tax,
then make an mot appointment?

Does anyone have advice on this as I'm keen to avoid breaking the law or rather getting caught breaking the law.

you're not going to get tax without an mot, so insure it then book the mot - you are legal to drive it without tax to an mot station (local one of course) then tax with the car mot'd

Don't be tempted to drive your freshly mot-ed car to get tax. If plod catch you " I was just on my way to tax the car officer" may not cut it.

Insurance
Mot
Drive home, park up.
Tax
Boooooooooooooost :D

Don't forget to add 'do a sun-dance' at the start of that list :D

I've had mine ready to go for about three weeks, but can't drive it thanks to British Summer (I know, it's only Spring, but either way it's crap)!
January 2014
..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.

May 2015
just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Still in the garage...
