Yes, I've done quite a bit of searching around on the interweb

Havn't seen any 195/45/15s

Good to read that your engine has bids Alex :thumleft:

Changed your mind about re-building & modding it then ?

Hope I like my AD08s as much as you liked yours :)

Have got mine for £85 fully fitted

A bit off topic, but I noticed a lot of mk3 setups kicking about.

Anyone know the weight of a mk3 alloy?

With or without tyres, 15 or 16, front or rear. Hoping for < 15kgs lol

Would be appreciated if someone could just pop one on scales for me.

Cheers

I used mine for constant use for trips to work so I enjoyed the all year round, not just for sprinting :thumleft:

That's the cost I got for mine when they had first come out! So well done for getting them that price fully fitted!

I'm happy to receive the money for the engine rather than going to the trouble of taking it apart and modding it again.

Would be very interested to know which wheels are lightest Barron :thumleft:

Have one of my rear Roadster wheels off @ the mo

6.5 x 15 with 205/50 Avon ZV3 about half worn

About 15 kg according to my bathroom scales :)

Will be having some new tyres soon so want to find the separate weights of the wheel & tyre while I have the chance

Back to tyres, what about Avon CR500 as used on Caterham championship cars?

I've never seen or used them before but spotted them whilst poking around the paddock at Oulton Park yesterday. They are E-marked, feel quite soft and sticky to touch and seemed to cope extremely well with the cold damp conditions (even on the R300s).

We had a chat to the Avon Tyres guy and he said they are specifically designed for lighter cars and come in 195-45-r15. On the down side they are quite expensive (according to the Avon guy) and only come in one compound.

We may try them on the rally car as wets.

Just checked, they are list 1b compliant, couldn't see any prices though.

Prices

CR28s may be worth a look as they are half the price, not sure if they are 1b compliant though.

My local supplier didn't manage to get those AD08 for me after all

What a BPIA :!:

Looks like I shall either have to wait or pay extra for fitting

Ears Motorsport in Macc can get AD08s in 195/50/15's. I know because I priced some up.

Thanks for that Lauren :)

Will have a look at them

Have a target price I'm trying to meet for these rather expensive (though I think excellent) tyres

If you want decent tyres, just spend the money that is necessary. I got mine for £80 fully fitted and it was buy 3 get a 4th free at the time.
