Interior Lighting

Post by SuperRedMR2 »

I have always found the interior light to be crap.

Has anyone fitted new lights, not necessarily neons inside to make it a bit brighter?

I will be fitting them after my MOT in a fortnight, but i'm buying a set from Tommy on the mk1 club. I'm assuming they are.

I'm not sure my Raybriggs are CE approved and they haven't failed my MOT yet.

well IIRC HID's have to be fitted with lamp washer and auto leveling aids so stop them blinding on coming drivers.

No, it was discussed in Off Topic. If its factory fitted it has to have those bits above. But if you fit it as an aftermarket thing, no it doesn't.

That's a result then, but probably wouldn't have stopped me fitting them anyway.

Re the interior light being crap, give the cover a good clean it makes a huge difference. It should be white.

I fitted these in to give a little more light and life to the interior. It's not quite as harsh as it looks in the picture. The interior is infact blue but the light makes it look black.

Coming back to interior lighting, I've been looking at LED and SMT unit suppliers on eBay. I'll report back.
