Just had a chap from Classic World racing on the phone:
http://www.classicworldracing.co.uk/team.html
He is interested in buying my Mk1 for a client back in Japan.
Anyone heard or had dealings with them please.
Anyone heard of Classic World Racing?

Can't see why someone would buy a MK1 from here when there's loads of better ones in Japan!

Re: Anyone heard of Classic World Racing?
He phoned back to confirm he wants it and will come and have a look with the idea of taking it but he keeps changing the subject of price saying "we can come to an arraignment" which sounds a bit odd since already told him the price is £1800 since not in a mad rush to sell (although would sell for £1600 but didnt tell him that).
Never dealt with a dealer before and last time I came across the buying for client line it was one of those e-bay scams.

If he really wants to buy your car with a view to importing it back to Japan, then I would say it's a scam, simply because it makes no sense at all(!).

Lauren is right
Sounds like the guy who wanted to sell to ice to the Eskimos.
I wouldnt want to deal with him but if I had to I would be telling him that he could have a look at the car but unless he brings £1600 in cash he will have a wasted trip. Make sure you dont do any deals on your own, have somebody with you.
Only let him test drive if he has proof of insurance. If in doubt dont be afraid to tell him to bu88er off. There are far too many conmen around nowadays.

Think Ill pull out of the deal and withdraw the car from sale at present since not in a hurry to sell since still havent decided on what car to buy next and it all sounds a bit odd. Suppose if I still want to sell come Summer Im more likely to get a better price for it anyway.

Get your bumpers re-sprayed as well.

Thats the other reason thinking if I get the bumpers done and give it a blooming good interior valet I should get closer to my asking price come summer hopefully.
