Revision 4 MR2 GT Turbo T Bar(rare azure blue)

Post by ryan »

With a heavy heart I announce the sale of my MR2.

Registered in July 1997 late P reg
Fitted with Sigma S Thatcham Cat 1 approved alarm and immobiliser with microwave sensor (box under tunnel) and relevent fitting certificate

MOT 15 May 2012

Its a GT spec so it has the following:

Steering Foglights
Folding mirrors
Half leather/alcantra seats and door cards
Blue/Green updated window tint for rev4 onwards

Also being a rev 4 it has:
Improved 4 channel ABS
Proper wing indicators (no orange toblerones)
Passenger Airbag and drivers (which breaks up the dash nicely)
Stainless steel 'MR2' sill plates

My own modifications include:

Genuine GReddy intercooler (over £700 new)
Phoenix Power Departure 2 PRO exhaust
TeeBeeDevelopments Downpipe (no longer made)
Manual boost controller to 1.1bar
HKS SSQV dump valve
HKS Air filter
Rare 2 piece split rim Volk Rays GTP 17" staggered 7 inch front
8 inch rear, no spacers needed
Tyres on rear are nearly new Continentals 245/40/17and fronts are Michelins 205/40/17 with just under half tread left
Chrome dial surrounds
6 tail light mod (with light up US corner triangles)
Clear headlights which modernise the pop up units no end
Alpine Type R speakers
TRD gearknob
Proper MR2 thick std mats
New gear gaitor from Toyota

Mileage is 120k miles, but some of these are kms, not sure how many but the car doesnt look like its done over 100k

Ive owned the car for just over a year, and in that time its had

2 new rear ARB links-Nov2010
Oil and filter - Nov 2010
NGK 1 colder grade plugs Nov 2010
New Battery with 2 yrs left on warranty (Halford heavy duty)
Full coolant drain and replaced with 12litres Toyota Forelife - Jan 2011
Gearbox oil replaced with MT-90 from Opie Oils -Jan 2011
Brake fluid with Dot5.1 -April 2011
All 4 discs replaced and EBC Ultimax pads (CRN zinc plated grooved discs to prevent rust on the unswept and wheel mounting area which can look unsightly) Also rear calipers replaced as they were seized-April 2011
Clutch slave cylinder replaced- April 2011
New uprated Exedy Clutch stage 2 -April 2011
Gearbox oil replaced with MT-90 from Opie Oils
Oil and filter change by myself August 2011
New plugs again -Sept 2011
New genuine Denso coil and bracket and dizzy cap (also gen denso)after misfiring in damp weather -Sept 2011
All 8 undertrays are present front to back which is rare, and it took me a while to source the missing ones and fit new brackets

I also have a reciept for Timing belt change last year while a new head gasket was done. The car has done 20k miles since this and has not had any issues

As with any 14 year old car, it has a couple of faults

1. In the last few days the speedo has been losing signal, sometimes self checking and coming on mid journey - I think its the clamping delimiter at fault and im in the process of sorting this
2. One of the small air con pipes, the small one that comes off the compressor the thread where it joins the other pipe has gone as I found out when getting the air con regassed this summer. Kwik Fit got it down to 5.8 degrees until the nut blew off due to the high pressure and bu88ered thread - they cited the thread was damaged and needed replacing, otherwise the air con works well, and a very good condition Air Con rad was fitted this year ready for the heatwave! The pipe I need is at an MR2 specialist in Kidderminster, but ive not had time to go up and have it fitted
3.Drivers Bolster wear though no rips
4. Some stone chips on nosecone

In general the car is in very good order and excellent condition with around 280bhp at current state of tune

Its priced to sell at £2795 but I will listen to good offers being the time of year it is!

That is nice, colour and wheel combo really set it off.

Might want to change the tax and mot though, as according to your ad, it ran out a while ago.

look at the 4x4 they are really cheap at the moment maybe get one just to see you through the winter..my mate sold his new 4x4 for an old pajero saved himself shed loads of money.. go for a 95/96 year as i think they had a revision change then and you get more for your bucks..pick one up for £1500 maybe less. don't get that micra. your regret it..
gee if i had a garage i snap that car off you very fine example.

keep in touch....i am still on my old number.
