Hi

I am restoring a 1a and have noticed that the sill structure is different from reference pictures of other people's

(1b) restorations.

The 1b pictures show an inner sill strengthener.

I'm in the process of doing my arches and sill end and looking into my sill I have noticed that there is no inner strengthener.

The car has never been welded before so I know for sure that no one has chopped it out! This seems to be a major difference between the two chassis.

is there a reason why an inner strengthener was added to the 1b

- was the sill not

'up to the job' on the 1a? seems odd.
