So asdrewq, are you still interested now it's at the 15 - 19 units price band ?

I'm still looking for more MR2 owners to join in on this group buy.

This is the only rhd quick steer pinion for the SW20 power steering rack in the world. A very rare performance part for your MR2's steering.

Yesterday I asked Mr2boost who is in the US if he had any video footage of his converted lhd MR2 with a quick steer pinion. Here's what he had to say.

"I am sorry, but I do not.

BUT, my son-in-law has a stock 1991 MR2 turbo that is exactly like my 1991 MR2 turbo (well his is SMG & mine is CR & his has a slightly different stereo & his has fog lights - other than that all the same options).

We auto-cross regularly & the benefits of the pinion in AX is dramatic. I know I prefer to drive mine over his because it is easier to slalom with mine (& he agrees). It takes the lock to lock turn from around 3.5 turns to around 2.6 turns & the steering "feel" is better too.

Also, I hope to get a GoPro camera soon & I will then post up some video showing me in the AX & then him & show how the steering wheel is moved back & forth. So, thanks for the idea.

But, sorry I don't know of any videos off hand & mine will have to wait till around Christmas probably for me to get the GoPro.

Daniel".

George this is a one off product. It has been designed and is ready for production. It is the rhd version of the lhd quick steer pinion that has been sold in the US. There are no rhd quick steer pinions yet produced and won't be untill the deposits are paid. I am not a company or shop that has the money to have these products made in advance.

Bluesmoke that's ok with me, as soon as we have ten people on board then the quick steer pinions can go into production. :thumleft:

This is what Blue Bomber had to say on mr2oc.com about his lhd quick steer pinion.

"I've got a quick ratio pinion, too, and it's one of the best mods I've done to my car. Makes the car feel so much more agile and responsive. If you've ever driven a Mazda3 or 00+ Celica, they're very similar in ratio."

How many deposits have you got for this now?
I'm quite interested too but want to do a bit of reading about what's involved with changing them over...

Wingers, there are currently four people that have paid either a deposit or in full for the the quick steer pinion. You can see who they are on the 2nd post on the first page

Here is a great link which shows how to remove the old steering pinion and install the upgraded pininon.

The sooner I receive at least ten deposits, the sooner the quick steer pinions will go into production.
