fault codes

hi all
in the past im use to sorting out problem with my bmw using a diagnostic DIS software on my laptop, can anyone tell me does the mr2 have a similar software package or is it just fuses and pins i keep reading about :wink:

No software to read codes, you have to bridge a couple of pins in the engine bay, Have a look in the knowlegebase for a guide.

probably given that answer myself in the past but cant actually see it in the knowledge base
in the diagnostic port (on the rear wall of the engine bay, no obd on mk1/mk2 mr2) you bridge e1 and te1 with a wire/paper clip and watch the check engine light on the dash, constant flashing - no error codes stored, short/long pauses between flashes gives you an error code
