Drop link / arb question. Help needed asap please!

Post by karldavies »

I'm currently in the process of fitting my whiteline arb's however I've become stuck on the front one.

Got the old one off no problems and the whiteline is just about on however the drop links 'appear' to be too long.

When I mount the arb to the drop link using the middle hole I just can't seem to line the bracket up with the underside of the car (where the bush goes). The drop link just hits the top of wish bone? The other side is mounted fine but the drop link is touching the wishbone however atleast it is on.

Am I doing anything wrong??

The car is currently jacked up with no wheels on.

Cheers

Mount the ARB on the chassis first, then connect the drop links :thumleft:

Sounds like you might need shorter drop links, have you lowered the car/ installed coil overs?

The back is rather tricky. Undo the sub frame bolts to the penultimate thread so the sub frame sits as low as possible. Undo the arb bush mounts using a combination of normal and ratchet spanners if you have them. Be careful not to trap the rathcet spanner as the bolts come out and get closer to the chassis. You should have space to slide the ARB out one side and put the new one through

Alright lads,

The rear one was spot on actually. Had no issues with it. I just followed the guide and it worked like clock work. Dropping the sub frame down those few inches really makes the difference :)

Lets just hope my car handles much better now!

Find out at Rocking on the 31'st.

Cheers
