T-Bar Seal

The on going project continues has any one removed and replaced a t bar seal on a mk1 as my seal has started to let water in .cost, painfull ,ok to do you know usaul questions ,i rang up toyota yesterday and they said £250 for the two sides and about 2 to 3 hundred to fit any thoughts plz cheers andy

Have done some work on mine Andy

On the top & also on the part that fits onto the windscreen pillar

Which bit of yours seems to be leaking ?

Can give you some information

doubt its the seals leaking. its normally water getting in underneath the seals that leaks in, or past the windscreen. in those cases, changing the seals with make zero difference. so I'd have a look at the guide on here for removing and resealing the "brackets" underneath the seals that the seals attach to, because in most cases this will fix the worst of the leaks. if the leaks are at the top of the windscreen then just remove the trim and fill the gap with silicone, worked perfectly for mine!

Thanks for that Jim. Have already been into the top. Have carefully studied Jinxys article re removing & re-sealing etc

Main problem in my case is rust in the top rail and seemingly the windscreen pillar. Water is running down inside the A-post & dripping down into the footwell

And as a result of the rust I now have two big cracks iin my windscreen :cry:
