Hats off Tom (Icunonsove) who did 95% of the work. Tom has a lot of experience in hydraulics and was able to figure out the best way to do it. He's also a demon at fabricating stuff. I was just there making coffee, taking exhaust manifolds on and off and generally trying to be helpful etc.

It worked perfectly on the trackday with no issues at all. :+:

Dont put a toothbrush near paintwork

Black plastics it should be fine, but on paint only use fine hair detailing, painting or make up brushes.

Have plenty of spare make up brushes that I don't really use, so will have a go with that. Cheers. :+:

If it's not a detailing brush put some masking or electrical tape around the binding part of the brush first unless you're very very careful with it.

Mark how has the oil pressure sender in his possession. He's wired up it up and pumped it up(!) for a test:

It works! :)

Well, I've had a go, went up to Buxton Raceway this afternoon, paid my tenner and then got my drivers briefing (was just me in the briefing). Main point of that was to tell me not to ever lift off but keep my foot in if I'm going to spin as otherwise it'll be head first into the concrete wall.

Okay, so there I am lined up ever so slightly terrified. There were loads of cars there with scars to prove how unforgiving the wall can be and believe me it wrecks your car.

So I had a tentative first outing, then got a ride with one of the regulars who was just stunning. Made me feel like a complete novice (which I am really when it comes to drifting). Still I listened and learned and then ventured out a fair few more times and started to increase my speed and play around with the car a bit more. I also remembered to turn up the rear dampers, to 6/8. That all helped and I had a really good afternoon.

Am thinking of doing a day at Oulton on 8th July (as I'm off anyway) and there is a lot more room, so hopefully Mark can have a go. :+:

Must change those bloody JDF tyres though, as coming up the Cat and Fiddle in the rain, the car was just absolutely lethal.

Still I survived and decided against going out for the fatal run at the track. Great stuff, reckon I could have some fun with this drifting lark. :)

Bit of a tentative drift, but a steel ring with 3 feet of concrete to the left tended to make me err on the side of caution.

Saw a fair few people hit the wall today and it's not very forgiving.

Nice pic, that drift looks a bit hesitant though :-k
Not good for the old tyres either. You using a knackered set of wheels for drifting?

That front plate needs changing for a 13x6.5" too :thumleft:

Yes, know about the plate.

Still got the JDM tyres on there, hard as nails. Replacement tyres at the track are free, just a fiver for fitting. My tyres still had plenty of tread on them at the end of the day!

See that wall in the background? Well it's steel with about 3 feet of concrete behind it and then a huge grass bank. Touch the wall and it's serious damage time for your car. Saw a Beemer take the front end out when he got it wrong and hit the wall. He did repair it, but there were a lot of cars there with quite a few scars!

I didn't even spin, that's how cautious I was. It's got to be the most dangerous venue to drift at in the UK!

Yeah it is a risk. No way on Earth do I want to touch that wall in my car. But, though I've not done much drifting, I have a lot of experience with car control so know how to point the car in the direction where it's going to spin where I want to.

I was absolutely terrified (well okay, not that bad) on my first time out, but when you are out there it doesn't look as bad as it does from a specators point of view.

We are looking at going to an event at Oulton Park where they use the tarmac rally course. There's loads of room, it's a really low grip surface so I will feel a lot more comfortable with that. I am persuading Mark to have a go to, as there was no way he'd have considered going out there today. It was mostly wet. That pic was taken when the circuit was sort of dry-ish.

The thing is with Buxton, is that it's local, it's stupidly cheap (£10 for me today!). What with free tyres and loads of support from the other drivers there, it's quite hard to resist!

Bet he wasn't happy at all.. He was going really wide on the drift and was rather close to the wall on the first time he went round. over confidence me thinks. #-o
