Oil Warning light

driving last night and the Amber warning light for the oil flashed on/off a few times! not it comes on after few mins stays on. oil level is fine. any ideas what else to check

its just the check the oil light mate if it definatly yellow, sensor might be goosed, near sump at the bottom

Have a look in the thread "what dash lights mean" (in mechanical section) if you don't have a hand book.

There's 2 lamps, one for low oil level and the other for low pressure (see above for the difference).

Round about rev 3 or 4 stage (can't remember which) Toyota got rid of the low level sender as it was prone to failing -you've not given any profile info so rev / age unknown. It might be a failed oil level sender if the oil level is OK on the dipstick. If it's low oil pressure then stop right away and don't drive it anywhere until it's checked out.

I have noticed my orange oil light flicker on for a mili second once or twice in the week i've had it, oil level is fine

I'm thinking it is nothing but don't want to do any damage

Orange one just means 'check your oil level', red one means you're screwed. As said above, the sensor gets a bit tempramental in its old age.

If you're bothered get it changed when you next get the oil changed.
