Most calipers fit, just a case of getting custom brackets made up. The front brackets that I have for 996 calipers was apparently a case of giving the engineering firm the hub with Supra disc, and Porsche caliper.

Then say make that, fit that. :D

When it comes to the rears it's a little more difficult because the mechanical handbrake mechanism need to be retained. I'm hoping to go with 996 rears and RX8 discs but a seperate spot caliper for the handbrake.

All depends on how much money you want to spend - give us an idea and then we can work round that.

One of Ant's (cantfindausername) big brake conversion kits would be fine. Uses stock calipers but with biggerererer discs. Then if needed some carbotech pads. But his kit was spot on. People racing I'm the MR2 series use stock brakes with carbotecs, so with bigger discs/spaced calipers = more than enough. If inwas to start again, that's what I would do.

I went for K SPORT brake kit on the front 330mm discs with 8 pot calipers then on the rear used the RX8 front discs 324mm ,would of gone for K SPORT 6pots on the rear but would lose the handbrake although K SPORT do a hydraulic kit for handbrake but this is not MOT passable

fronts 330mm 8 pot calipers

By fitting larger calipers on the front but keeping the rear stock will you not throw off the front/rear brake balance and lock up far too easily?

the rx7 discs need a wee centreing ring to make them fit on the rears but you'll need a bracket to fit the rear caliper to them as well. Ant does a great deal in the grooup buys, I believe there is one going on the now
