timing belt help!

timing belt help!

im half way through changing the cam belt on my st205.. how the hell do you get the new timing belt on? is there a special technique cos i cant seem to get it over all the pulleys. complete nightmare, its like its just a fraction too smal.

Have you got the right belt? Check the number of teeth.

Should go on easily if you get the teeth meshed in the crank gear, oil pump and water pump. Then fit the compressed tensioner last.

Peter youre a fekking hero... guide i was using has me fitting the tensioner at the same time as changing the pulleys, i didnt think it would make any difference since i aint pulled the pin out of the tensioner. However i've noticed it is protruding slightly, belt now on, just need to refit the damn tensioner now.
