A car is reborn

Post by Jonjeffryes »

Almost the year to the day that my son blew up the engine in spectacular fashion, the MR2 has finally moved under it's own power again.

Enter one very happy man....it's been a long haul but we wre almost there...final fix list is:

Both gearbox driveshaft oil seals
Leaking sump to be replaced
Missing top bracket for airconditioning compressor
No power to rear lights...reversing lights and indicators but no number plate lights or rear lights...to be investigated
Replacement rear bumper is the wrong shade of red...that and the nose cone plus the mirrors will Need repainting.
Front brakes to overhaul
Apart from that...and a proper detail clean..we're ready for the MOT

More relief that the task is almost complete....I bought the engine back in December so it's been a real long haul.

My wife's grin is bigger than mine....it means she might get her husband back on Saturdays' (the only free day I've had to work on the car) but her around the house todo list for me is pretty scary
