[Mk2] [NA] Rear disc brakes

Post by Demoman »

Hello!

I'm a donkey!
Got everything together now.. all the parts. And just started putting the brakes together. BUT! I think I have the wrong rear disc brakes.

The calipers don't fit around them.

Does anyone have the measurements of the Mk1 Sw20 Mr2 disc brakes? The difference between the old and new model ..what is it? Are the newer ones "more fat" then the old ones.

I noticed there are two models. My Mr2 is 1991 build.. but I guess it's the Mk1 version.

anyone has an answer?

Do you mean is the disc thicker (have you wound the caliper piston back in to allow for the newer/fatter disc and hopefully new fatter pads) or do you mean the diameter of the disc? If its diameter it did change between years. If you want to check diameter just lay your new and old discs back to back.

yep, newer one (rev2+) is thicker. i think rev1 is 25mm thick and the later ones 30mm. the diameter is greater on the later ones too.
