I have nothing against the guy, he has gave me parts for free and parts at dirt cheap prices and I WOULD buy from him again but 200mph+? I would want it proved on a track with a speed gun first..

BUT

then again, Fensport have done it with a Celica and another car so its not Impossible...........

If it has got 770hp then i can believe it with a long enough road.

At TOTB last year on the standing km, i hit just short of 170mph, that was with the car miss-firing and blowing the intercooler hose off just past half track, that was with 590whp so i can believe 200mph with 770hp.

Keeping you're nerve till 200mph in an MR2 is another matter though. One day!

Where would you need your rev limiter set to to hit 200 though? Would 10k rpm on a standard ratio box get you there (assuming you had the power to drive it)? :-k

That is the rarest Red MR2 in the World !!!! How can you possibly knock it you haters !!!! I think red car, black light covers, gold wheels and grey seats combo is worth the asking price alone.

Seriously though if it was a realistic price someone could make that a very nice car.

10k on stock ratios would push far past 200mph if you had the power and balls

Dont know if you are on the american forums but there's a great link here regarding ratios,

http://mr2oc.com/showthread.php?t=22261 ... ios+solara

A stock setup running a 26" tall tyre and a 8500rpm limit will top out at 207.5 mph!

Maybe we should setup an MR2 thunder road/v-max type event!

No but you wouldnt be able to insure a car with that level of modifications on a classic policy.
If you can't see the angle, you're in trouble.

Insured the TRD with quite a few mods on a classic policy, they were not even interested in the modifications on that car mind.

Mind you, not sure why we're still talking about this car.

yes, you can change the plates

Correct spelling of key tuning companies would have been a bonus too.

Spell it how you say it... doesn't really cut it with me, especially if paying 16k+ for a car.

yea as Rob said you can get new plates, I have a OS Giken with worn clutch plate, all I need is a new clutch plate for it and its good to go again :)

I tried to insure mine as a classic car and they werent bothered about interior / body / suspension mods, only engine mods that added bhp... But this thing has had quite a few engine mods lol

Correct spelling of Bugatti wouldn't be a bad starting point either.....

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Still in the garage...

yes he is renowned for telling porkies and his reputation does precede him but he still persists in the belief that someone might fall for it..... although he has been trying to sell the expensive one for about 6 months now
