Window rattle

I've replaced my drivers side window regulator and the window goes up and down lovely and smooth now.

However when the window is not a full up it has a small amount of play left and right, towards the driver away from the driver if you get me.

It's only a tiny amount but enough to cause a slight rattle.

What is it that holds the window firm when partially down? Is it the hairy rollers?

Any ideas?

You havn't got some wiring/plug rattling against your window have you? my central unlocking door clip has come off and is rattling against my window when it's half up.

No. The window is actually moving.

I noticed it when i cleaned the car yesterday, i noticed i could just ever so slightly move the window in form it's normal resting place.

I'll have to get the doorcard off again and have a look?

Are the hairy rollers there to guide the window up and down? Is the window suposed to sit against these?

Yes. They're likely worn out/down. I seem to recall that they're stupidly expensive from Toyota too, around the £100 springs to mind

If you find anything, report back please? My drivers side window is just the same and I'm looking for a cure! I did wonder about those little sticky backed felt pads that you can get for furniture legs on wooden floors...

sticky back velcro works ,(the outdoor type), and if not badly worn can be adjusted ,
you only need to do one side though either on the door, on on the trim ,
I did both and it was too tight ,also make sure you wrap it under ,or the window will fetch it off










And on the mirror surround to stop the wind noise
