A better worded posting would help you massively, i've had to decode that!

If you just want to get a basic charging circuit going here is what you need to do...

1. Run the 6mm pole wire to the battery +
2. Run the white wire on the 3 pin plug to the 6mm pole
3. Run the Black/yellow stripe wire to any ignition source.
4. The last remaining yellow wire can be used for your charging light, but i don't know if that car even has a standard dash anymore. If it still has a set of Mk1 clocks then run the yellow wire to the thick yellow wire at your N1 connector, which is a large 24 pin plug in the boot. If it doesn't have the stock clocks anymore then run the yellow wire to an ignition source.

Happy charging!

sorry i'm not good with words i'm more of a practical person.

the car has a stack dash. i was going to put the standard one back in but there's no loom for it. will it charge if i just run 1 2 & 3 to a battery + &
leave the yellow wire.

No it won't charge like that, you need to wire it as per my post, also if you give the ignition live wires a full battery live you will end up with a battery drain.

If you want a charge light on your dash then run an igntion live to one side of a bulb, then from the other side of the bulb run to the yellow wire and you will have a charge warning light.

It takes 10 minutes to wire it up properly.

thanks i'll give it a go. the stack dash has a volt meter so dont need a light. at the moment it reads 12.7v i'm gessing it will go up to 13.5ish when working properly.

14.5v if it's working at its best, just run a 12v ignition feed to the yellow wire in your case.

i link the white wire to the 6mm pole then to b+ with 6mm wire.
b/y wire to 10a engine fuse
nothing with the yellow wire

So you didn't follow my instructions then, you asked if it was ok to leave yellow unconnected and I told you it wouldn't charge if you did that!

I give up mate.
