They are used mate, but only once. In fact, they were only in the engine when the head was replaced and never started properly.

I bought the engine to use the head in my rev3 build and I didn't use the bolts as I re-used the ones in my rev1 block.

You know the L19 are not the standard ARP studs but stronger ones, are they the ones you have?

Ah, possibly not then ! I didn't realise there were different ones available. Why would anyone need stronger studs than normal ARP's ? What would the advantages be ?

I used std ARP's up to 900hp with no issues... Don't really see the need to spend nearly triple on a set of bolts that aren't necessary?

If the bolts are on a low power engine the you should be able to reuse them once or twice but the right way is to use new ones each time.

Head studs are better than bolts

It did, although after thinking about it that car was a bodge in Japan ... it'd had a blow up and was put together with any old tat and shipped accross.

As for ARP bolts. I only ever had 1 set with the drag car. Must have re used them 10 times.

You need to measure the stud each time you go to re use it and as long as it is within its tolerance you are OK to use again.

We are currently in the process of manufacturing our own head studs from vacuum melted steel similar to the l19 grade. Should be a lot cheaper than the l 19s too . If you need info feel free to message me.
