Next mods??

Post by glen n »

I now don't need to sell my 2,work has picked up so I can afford the crazy insurance . I'm just wondering what people would recommend next for my car. Currently it has

Apexi induction kit
Blitz dump valve
Scorpion exhaust
Blitz boost controller
Meerkat downpipe
Lowered 40 mm

I've got a chargecooler but I'm unsure if the car currently needs it

I've got an hks fcd to fit, will this make a difference?

So what next?

An intercooler seems a much easier job,the chargecoler was an impulse buy,but now ive looked into it more it sounds a huge job!

If your not looking for more than 350hp one of the cheaper ebay units will be fine, still fiddly but much easier than installing a chargecooler.
I have a used unit I think for sale.

Do you have a rev1/2 or 3?

Chargecooler will make a decent difference. Bung on an ST205 unit.

Ive sourced an intercooler I think. And also a manifold, will the manifold male any difference? And is fitting as hard as I've heard?

Standard manifolds are good for normal power hikes, aftermarket ones that dont cost a lot of dollar will probably end up cracking....Your'll also probably break a few studs off and generally make your life hell for a few hours.

I'd just stick with the standard manifold with your intercooler. :thumleft:

dont change the manifold. iv had two. the first one cracked and the second one was a nightmare to put on with the engine in . the pipes bend over where the studs go so you cant get a spanner on .

That's me decided that a manifold is a bad idea,I don't fancy the fried involved. I'm going to get some lenso d1rs instead, and my intercooler. That's if the car ever gets painted,5 months it's been sitting now! So sticky brakes etc to contend with I bet.
