There are at least two different shapes of pad for the Celica calipers, much like a rev1/3 Mk2 difference so you need to get the same shape pad that you have.

From EBC... you can only get green and red stuff for these (can't get yellows)

and you need to file the bottom edge to make them fit the carrier

iirc the code for them is DP3819C (for reds) Subaru Impreza/Legacy 93-97

I use mine on track hence the reds... green's will be fine for normal road use.

Yup. My road car used to belong to aw11rally and he fitted ST165 calipers and Impreza-fit Ferodo DS2500 pads. The pads need a little finessing to go in, but in use they're very good.

If you weren't daan sarf I'd offer to take you for a spin to demonstrate how good they are.

Ive got to remove a sheared off nipple first before I can do anything with the calipers.

Going to get them chemically cleaned, then have a new seal kit put on, then powder coated in gloss white :thumleft:

I'd contest that. Green stuff pads are utter rubbish even on the road. Yellows on the other hand are the stuff of miracles. :D

Right,

The seal kit on Biggredcalipers is about £32.

There are two kits on brakesinternational. One is the seal kit another is the service kit. Both come to £33 quid.

Whats in the seal kit that isnt in the service kit?

EBC make pads for these calipers (which I presume are the ones you got). Its the subaru 4pot pads that need shaving slightly, only a problem if you want a more serious pad like Mintex 1144 or DS2500/3500 etc.

The EBC stuff should slot straight in.

Must be a fairly recent addition, as they didn't when I needed some a couple of years ago :-k

I bought the subura 3819s as stated earlier in the thread. Whereabouts do they need to be shaved?

Do you have to have the metal clips?

Ok, maybe I should read back a bit more thoroughly. Sorry.

I had take about 5mm off the top edge of the pad and open up the notch in the side of the pad.

They do slot in rather well without modification but the top edge of the pad will bind.

when i 'grinded' my subraru pads to fit the 165's i had a set of standard pads nearby to compare with and marked off the areas to remove and theyve been sweet as. dont remember exactly which parts needed removing tho sorry.
