Advice Needed regarding turbo please

Post by r10crw »

Please excuse my first post as being of this nature. i was a member several years back when I had an Mk1 but cant remember ny details.
So here I am around ten years later having just purchased a turbo Mk2. Something Ive always wanted and got the chance of one with built internals and hybrid C20B turbo (I think). So living in Scoland I had to fly to luton and drive home through the night. After only a couple hundred mile the clutch seemed t be slipping in top, to cut a long story short I arrive home in the dark to find oil all over the back of the car and I suspect in the bellhousing causing th clutch slippage. Omce in daylight I could see that after lifting ther is a lot of grey smoke.
The car originally belonged I assumn to someone on here as it has the IMOC sticker on the back window and the owner has kindly docueted every expenditure. He (maybe a she?) had the engine rebuilt but RSR motorsport back in january 2010 with full forged interals. On the reciept I have it says they provide a 3 year warranty on labour so wondered if maybe they could lend a hand, anyone used them? Because Im up in Scotland I will probably have to do the work myself but even if they provide a discunt off the parts, do you think it cheeky to ask for help being a non direct customer?
As regards the car it only smokes after lifting off not when on boost or cruising so any ideas as to the cause?

give them a ring to see if the warranty is still valid after a change of ownership

I love the car itself. It looks like the engine is okay just got a leak but the turbo is probably gone since it smoke on upshifts, can this be repaired?
