[Mk2] [Turbo] What Boost Pressure to run ?

Ok, spec is, Rev 3 Turbo.

Stage 1 Hybrid Turbo which is good for 1.6bar. Figures from Turbo Technics them selves.

Apart from a HKS Intercooler, Intake and a Mines ECU, the car has standard internals.

What in everyones opinion is a safe boost to run that is not going to over stress and damage the standard Internals.

1.0 bar of boost will be safe.

or set it to run 1.15 bar to be close to the limit but also safe

Depends on whether you have access to a WB Lambda and rolling road and can tune the engine properly. The only reason most of the stock internals give up, is that you end up leaning out and detonation occurs. Combustion temparature is the key here Stock HG on a Gen3 is way strong as are the pistons, con rods and crank.

Why is 1,15 bar close to limit? Does fueling go awry after that on a gen3?

My Rev4 is running with greddy intercooler/de-cat/mongoose exhaust/rouge engine bay fans is running 1.0 bar without any boost upgrades thats pretty safe isnt it?

That's well within limits unless you're doing hour long full throttle runs.

I think thats going to be the best thing to do, will do some research on who to go to in Sussex and get it all sorted
