Blitz access or mines turbo ecu query

Post by gazrev1tubby »

Hi all, i'm possibly after either of the above ecu's as a plug and play option for my car.
Mine is a rev1 and I believe the access/mines for the rev1/2 has maps up to 18psi ?
To the best of my knowledge the rev3 version carries maps up to 20psi due to the bigger injectors - so my question is:

Can a mines/access ecu for a rev3 be re-pinned and used on a rev1 with rev3 injectors ? If so, does anyone know what wires need to be swapped about ?

TIA

Considering all they are is a totally standard ECU with a small chip in to rewrite a few parameters, I would assume you have to make the same changes to a standard rev3 conversion (i.e. MAP/MAT sensors, remove cold start and AFM, etc etc).

You could be right there mate - I hadn't thought of that

In that case, i'll continue my search for a rev1/2 one :thumleft:

Ideally i'd like to keep my emanage and rev3 injectors but i'm now going over to a ct20b instead of my td05 setup and with that in mind, I don't really need to worry about the mapping side as much. Although, will the stock rev1/2 440cc injectors fuel up to 1.2 bar ?

Yes but I believe they can be re-pinned to suit ?

Mines gone dizzy

Post by Mike N »

I have a Rev 1 Mines ECU that I used to run on my turbo. They are different to the Rev2 although the wiring can probably be changed.

They are a really simple plug in, play and forget it ECU. They remove all of the engine and speed limiters without any fuss.

I ran my Mines ECU on both ct26 @1.1 bar and it went like a rocket with no lag. I then ran it with a ct20b @ various levels of boost for around a year but I would'nt recomend going over 1.1 bar without a saftey session on the rollers. In comparrison, the ct20b had some slight low end lag but pulled harder to 7k.

The ECU rev limit was raised (8k I think?) although I dont remember having to exceed 7k at all.

The only down side to the Mines ECU is that they were mapped for 100 octane fuel and we only get 97/98 nowadays in uk, so would recomend retarding the dizzy by a couple of degrees for some added reliability.

I was and still am impressed by what they do in such a simple way, but you wont get the massive power & torque that comes with a stand alone ecu / injectors set up, but there again, they dont cost a massive amount either!

I have just had to rename myself "MikeN" from "Mike N" due to being unable to make my password work following an computer crash and new email being recently added.

So after 361 posts, 12 pos feedback, and being around since Nov 2007 on IMOC - I have just lost it all.

From now on I am MikeN with no gap.

You've not lost anything, but this is a little off topic - taken to PM.
