(420bhp)!!

I'm now unsure what do as this is the 2nd time I've cracked a block!!! This time I was on 86mm pistons

& I kept boost below 1.6bar.

I don't have the money to just rebuild the engine and try again and I just think that I'd crack another block anyway

soooooo

Options are
1.

Sleeve my block and down grade back to a standard turbo set up

(fingers crossed it would be reliable on track).

2.

Sell all my mods and drop a standard rev3 turbo lump in.

3.

Sell all engine bits and drop a na or v6 engine in for a change.

What do you guys think??

I'm going 2 keep it as I love the mr2 and it's great on track I'm just not sure which way 2 do things at the moment???

Cheers dan

Gutted Dan.

Really feel for ya buddy.

One thing I will say is.

.

.keep her below 1.4bar and around 380bhp and she will be fine.

Anything over 400bhp is asking for trouble, especially in even our summers.

I get bad knock at 1.5bar but it's fine at 1.4bar.

It doesn't seem much, but it really is a huge difference.

JJ's rule of thumb

(after experience of engine failure!) of 1.4bar seems pretty accurate.

Do you have 264 cams already?

If not, I would highly recommend them as you pick up

~25hp at same boost levels which helps keep pressures down.

Hope all goes well with the rebuild
