Hey buddy that's some high hp your after, what mods do you have at the moment and what rev is your engine? I'm pritty sure if your running a rev3 you should be fine have hurd the rev2 inlet mani's are more restrictive, most peaple with rev2 opt for the rmr manifolds there highly rated and from what I have seen and read very well made etc, as for the inlet manifold you posted I wouldnt fit one if I was given one, I have seen one of theses before the build quality is very very poor and wasn't even flat and had to be skimmed as for the TB that just fell apart after a few weeks, if your running a rev3 inlet manifold just keep it buddy and fit an oversized TB most fit 90mm to 95+mm hope this helps

Hi there i am buying the engine out of the phoneix ex demo car,and the manifold end of this month

i do have a gt3076r but am thinking of a gt35 as that can handle more power, and sard 850cc injectors, sard fuel rail, uprated fuel pump, boot mount intercooler, but i want a inlet as i want the best for my car and not a cheap rubbish crap, ecu side am going to go solaris if that is what it is called lol

i have got lots of bits which i bought for my own build which am going to get rid of

will place an add in for sale section soon

hks 272 cams and hks pulleys
hks f-con ecu with gcc controller all for mr2
hks mushroom filter the whole kit (proper hks)

If you want the best for your car. Fit a Motec.

650bhp....

You need to re do you list mate. The parts you have specified will not do that kind of power. That's well up there. And speaking from experience, useless as a road car.

That twin scroll is well tasty! Be needing 1200's ish injectors though min. My 1000cc's were running 120% duty at 4 bar base fuel pressure for 635bhp.

Check out the FIC 2150cc injectors. Quite a few of the cars in the US are running these, evo's etc and are finding them as usuable as a 1000cc injector!

Seems to be quite a rave about them at the minute.

Can anyone tell me what the max hp that has been achived using the rev3 inlet manifold with uprated TB?

As said about the KU inlet mani's having to be skimmed modded to fit etc just seems like after you have paid for it (wich isnt cheap) then you have to spend more cash on it becomes a pritty exspensive item would i dare say very close to what a RMR manifold would cost. shurely there is a better fit item on the market for the same price if not cheaper?

Also i cant find a website for KU they seem to only sell through ebay, does anyone no why this is?

funny you should say that as when i blow my engine up last year i walked down and picked up the banzai chris had been featured in, i basicly tracked him down on the net to hastle him for questions and answers lol i built my car to a simular spec to chris's when i read about the carlos sainz wrc inconal mannifold i had to track one down thanks to his mate andy i did  an when i read the hp output i had to go for it, so thanks chris for making me skint over this past year or so  its the most exspensive game i have ever played and dont plan playing it again anytime soon lol :D

ku sell only at ebay because they "copy " Jun inlet (so ebay probaby the easiest to ad and list product to customer and if JUN come down on them hard they just fall)

Greddy manifold, i think it is for sale section somewhere

RMR i believe they stop making the manifold for mr2, but you can get the bit to make it yourself, (also on ebay)

and the
rev3 inlet manifold with uprated TB you got from andy, i beleive he also enlarge the opening, i guess the inlet is more to do will where the power will be and how equal between the cylinder (since they revised on rev 3),

The only grizzle i had about the KU manifold was that the runner flange wasnt welded on straight across the runners and the holes were far to small.

I just gasket matched it and opened the back of the flange up (luckily enough it was decently thick) to get rid of any nasty steps.

Everything else worked out great!

KU as a company have been around for several years at least. They have been replicating and selling their copy of the Jun intake manifold on ebay since at least 2006 which is when I first noticed it on there. It's likely they have been making them even before 2006 as I only really started looking for intake manifolds that year onwards.

From the photos I saw of the American group buy the quality of them was pretty good. I bought my Jun manifold second hand from someone in America and when I traced back the original sale it was advertised as being made by Jun.

Looking at the photos of the KU copies posted on the US forums I have to say the quality and finish of the KU copies look to be of a higher standard than my original Jun manifold. Certainly the quality of the welds was better on the KU ones and they also came thoroughly polished unlike the original Jun manifold.

I found the Jun manifold to work pretty well. My own findings were that the Jun manifold allowed me to hold torque better at the top end but sacrificed a few hundred RPM of spool. Very much like a mild cam upgrade.

As the KU ones copy the dimensions of the Jun manifold I would expect they would give similar results? HTH anyway :thumleft:
