[Mk2] [Turbo] Tubby exhaust mounts - help

Post by tubbyone »

Help
I am replacing a Blitz Nur Spec on my Rev 2 tubby with a Mongoose as the Blitz is too loud for track days and my ageing ears! The exhaust mount on the rear sub frame for the mid pipe on the Blitz has a slot in the middle but the Mongoose mid pipe hangar is round - can anybody tell me what is standard?
Thanks in advance.

I had to do this to pass the MOT the other day!

£5 from a scrap yard it cost as my mounting that is supposed to be bolted to the subframe was missing! I have a turbo Mongoose too!

Looks something like this:

Quick google search found it at this shop on this webpage:

...but remember scrap yard is definitely worth while considering!

And as Skywalker said, since it is a very tight fit (sliding the shaft off the Mongoose through this rubber bush) it is best to lubricate the shaft; I coated it in copper grease and it slid in with very little effort.

Good luck!
