Will a full size gents mountain bike fit in an SW20?

Has anybody actually achieved this unlikely feat? Would be really handy to have a bike to get me around camp, I've got 2 of the buggers back home so cant really justify buying a third

I would have thought the only way it would even be remotely possible is taking the passenger seat out and wheels off the mountainbike. I doubt you'd fit one even in bits in the boot, wheels are too tall for the boot depth surely?

You should have bought an MX5 for the boot rack

Even if you took it all apart i'm sure the wheels and frame wouldn't fit in the cabin or the boot.

Wouldn't the easiest thing be to get a towbar and rack? Or maybe a wee trailer ...

Would prefer a bike rack that secures to the rear rather than a roof rack really. Im sure a couple of years ago there was a guy on here who managed to get his bike physically into his MK2.

I used to have a towbar on my NA MR2, to carry bikes I used a Thule rack which mounted to the towball. Can't remember what make the towbar was though.

I can get a full size road bike into the passenger side in mine, wheels/saddle off first and it is a squeeze but do-able!
Mind and put a cover on the seat so you don't get oil off the chain everywhere.

Probably not mate, it's been parked up in the garage pretty much all over the holiday. I do get round the Chandlers Ford way quite a bit though

Yep....Its Possible i got one in next to me, take both wheels (obviously) off, take the seatpost out and bobs your uncle. You'll find though that the forks will annoy your left elbow and you can't really see out of the nearside wing mirror. But yep its do-able meaning if you are on camp you can lock the bike in the car for safety overnight.

You can definitely do it. I managed a 20" hardtail in my old mk2 any number of times, without removing any seats, and with a (slimline) sub box behind the passenger seat. It wasn't even that uncomfortable.

Both wheels off, seatpost out, frame in with the chainstays down in the passenger footwell and the bars/fork turned to whatever is most comfy, then fit the wheels around that. Seatbelt it up to stop it shifting when you're driving. You may want to put an old blanket down first, cos I was super annoyed when I ended up with dirty oil all over my seat bolster.
