Hello.
Thought it might be a worth while exercise for us to collectively share our knowledge and experiences of Track/Race Day Exhaust Systems. I'm sure it will help people book their track days with a little more confidence and help those looking to buy a new pipe make a more informed decision!
I suggest we try and keep this as factual as possible, for example let's try and avoid simply stating, "it's loud" and base the posts on known db outputs and known track day failures & successes.
I'll start......
Blitz Nur-Spec with custom 3" down pipe - Brands Hatch static test, 109db = epic fail !

My buddy club passed the other day with no bung and just a standard cat in it? it's quieter than my rsr was... hmm, maybe I just cheated the system.... lol.

Re: Track Day Friendly Exhausts..., (Possible Sticky Admin?)
would you pass a track day DB test with a berk tech exhaust with an external wastegate???

Interesting feedback guys.
If not for the fact that my Nur is simply too loud for the track i'd happily keep it.
Now another interesting question. which systems from the list are nice and light, and which one's are known to be heavy?!
My personal consideration at this stage is the Berk. I've seen one in the metal and it seemed to be very well made. It look good on the car and I presume it ways around the same as the Nur Spec....... Thoughts please?

The Berk is an all round great exhaust, and I have tried a few.
Cant comment on the weight comparision though.
3" all through, very well build, will pass noise limits, easy to live with, but still nice and throatie.

Re: Track Day Friendly Exhausts..., (Possible Sticky Admin?)
on the above ones is there any idea's on the actual db measure as it may be possible to use a motorsport bung to try bring the db limit down.
i have a 5 zigen and tbh i know it will fail on db testing but am hopefull with a bung as proved in another thread it may be possible to bring the level down enough

Hi
I have a rev 2 turbo fitted with Blitz Nut Spec, Blitz intake and decat. I bought it for w/ends and track days and not wanting to pay up front then get chucked off, I got it measured at Oulton Park and it came in at 103 dBA with the bung fitted. Limit is 105 and after a hard session and blowing some of the internals out it could top 105. On goes the Mongoose.
