Post by samu23 »

Just a quick one

Ive just bought an XS power intercooler on ebay, to fit to my rev 1 turbo. Should i buy a GTSchris shroud and fan? What are the benefits?

Thanks

the shroud is necessary because it forces air through the intercooler.

The fan helps to lower intake temperature when car is stationary but isn't really necessary as you'll have airflow when the the car is moving.

yeah, best to get the gtschris shroud and fan for 2 reasons.

1) The stock fan is crap compared to a spal puller fan

2) the shroud stops air getting down the sides of the intercooler.

If you're gonna fit it, may as well do the job properly :thumleft:

Think you have a point here martin! I dont know the answer to that one, only to say u might be right!

Im not convinced with those xs power intercoolers, youd be better with a 2nd hand greddy or somthing along those lines!! :thumleft:

But... i suppose if your not expectin to go up the bhp a lot it should be fine

i got the shroud but not the spal kit, main reason because your reducing gap the air can pass through when driving... ok granted with the fan on its going to be better than the stock, but when its off its gotta reduce the air passing through it.

I'm in the process of fitting mine mate but thanks to the hoses being rubbish (far too big) I'm now having to buy new ones! Grrrr...

I also bought the fan, shroud etc!

Oh it's all good :D
