Rear wheel arch repair panel

Post by TJS »

After looking into this for a few days now and getting no where, ](*,)

Is there anyone who can supply or fabricate a O/S/R (and N/S/R if possible although not as bad) wheel arch liner (behind the wheel and above front of arch) repair panel for my MK2.

I know theres is loads avaliable for the MK1.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please, possibly a part specific to another vechile that can be modified????

Really struggling with this one.

Thank in advance

There was actually a guy (might be the same one who makes the AW11 panels if I recall) who appeared offered to make replacement repair panels for the SW20 but he got hammered down and I don't think anything came of it in the end.

Toyota do some repair panels -some of the dealers I've asked don't want to look them up and they're pricey but here's a link to an EPC which show the body panel and the part numbers (play about with the web address to get back into the EPC lists). About good enough without toyodiy EPC now...

...not sure if that's any help to you or not.

My old rev2 UK car had had an entire rear quarter panel welded in by Toyota very early on in it's life, from what im guessing was a high value insurance repair, so you can definitely get them (it had also had an entirely new door and wing. the door is still in original primer on the inner skin)

^^ you were lucky, sounds like a proper repair to me. The rear quarter panel was about £365+vat last time I checked a few years ago. On a T-Bar it starts 2/3rds along the way back along the sill under the door edge and goes right up to the roof and follows on behind the rear light cluster. It's a big panel and requires proper cutting and careful welding to replace it properly. -least that's what I found out when I was looking for repair panels a few years ago anyway for the sills on mine just in front of the rear arches -I ended up finding a local guy who could do custom steel work for racing cars and he did the welding work for me, unless you can get to the scrappies with a battery jig saw or a chisel and hammer and cut out your own patch panel.
