[Mk2] [NA] cold air feed

Post by sam_bilbie »

just put a hks filter on my car and was playing around with the cold air feed to make it hit the filter better, ive fabricated a piece of pipework so this works better, i then looked at the outside where it enters through the vent and noticed the pipe sits quite far away from the vent and doesnt look to be in the most direct air path, i was thinkin of putting a new cold air feed in using some 6 inch alloy ducting pipe and flushing it up behind the plasticy rubber behind the vent, before i do it though thought i would see if any one else has done anything similar or if its worth doing??

Hi mate I have done something similar. When I got the car it just had the airbox on, no pipes or anything so I bought some ducting from ebay and cable tied it onto the airbox and sort of wedged it facing the side vent.

Mines turbo'd so I don't know if the layout is different but I imagine its the same. It sounds awesome and you can really hear the turbo spool up. Its probably the best £10 or so i've spent.

If you want some pictures I can upload some but i'd say go for it :thumleft:
